Klimplanten

Klimplanten kunnen niet zonder steun. Je kunt ze tegen een schutting, wigwam of tonkinstokken laten groeien. Minstens zo leuk is het om ze door bomen en heesters te laten groeien zodat deze interessanter worden, zeker als ze niet in bloei zijn. Om te klimmen gebruiken deze planten allerlei hulpmiddelen: klimranken, doorns of zuigwortels. Andere slingeren zich in hun geheel om hun steun heen. Sommige planten die als klimplant worden aangemerkt, zijn eigenlijk kruipende planten waarvan de lange slappe stengels aan een steun worden gebonden.

Climbers

Climbing plants cannot grow without support. You can grow them against a fence, wigwam or poles. It is just as much fun to let them grow through trees and shrubs so that they become more interesting, especially when they are not in bloom. These plants use all kinds of tools to climb: climbing vines, thorns or sucking roots. Others wrap themselves entirely around their support. Some plants classified as climbing plants are actually creeping plants whose long, limp stems are tied to a support.
