The bronze coloured foliage tastes like aniseed and makes a tasty addition to salads or as an attractive garnish. With a multitude of uses, fennel can even be used as a compress for softening rough chapped hands, or for treating numerous ailments.

Sowing instructions: Direct sow fennels seeds outdoors from March to July into well prepared soil in full sun when temperatures reach around 13-18 Celsius. Sow seeds thinly into drills 1c m deep and 38 cm apart. Make regular sowings for a successional harvest.

Planting instructions: somewhat moist, light soil. No extra feeding. Full sun.
